INTRODUCTION

Personal development planning is considered as the process of which includes the activities related to creation of action plan on the basis of their awareness, values, goal-setting for improvement of their own skills and competencies. In the process of preparation of plan important to determine their own strengths and weaknesses. This will provides the opportunity regarding setting of the SMART goals which are need to be in nature of specific, measurable, acceptable, reliable and time. Academic and personal skills are two important perspectives which helps in development of overall personality.

In the present report explain about identification of strength and weaknesses through conducting personal skill audit, setting of SMART objectives, use of note taking skill in achievement of objectives, creation of research plan and carrying out research through use of primary and secondary sources and creation of personal development plan.

TASK 1

a. Identification of strength and weaknesses

There is huge importance of identification of their own strengths and weaknesses to make plans and strategies in development of their own personality. Strengths includes the information about such aspects and skills in which we perform good and weaknesses covers such aspects where need to take few steps ahead for their actual improvement. This assessment helps in collection of required to of information to set goals for removal of weaknesses. Such goals are directing factors which enforce to take innovative steps through which optimum results are obtained. All the goals are need to be SMART. It means which achievable in actual sense not fictionery.

I started the process of audit through assessing personal and academic skills in which I am good and where I need to improve. The strengths and weaknesses which determined by me in my own skills are defined below:

Strengths

Having effective communication skill is my strength which helps in completion of my tasks and assignment in more effective and efficient manner within situated period of time. From assessment of my communication skill observed that I am good in listening and writing aspects but I lack in speaking in front of public. This shows that in formulation and preparation of project I performed good but at the time its presentation I lacked.
I have good research skills which is at some point interlinked with communication process. As identified above that I am good listener provides opportunity to me that effectively gather the information from various sources through application of primary methodologies.
Also one of the important aspect in which I perform good is about multitasking. I not feel stressed while performing many tasks simultaneously. This will provides opportunity to me to accomplish the project within stipulated period of time through completing different aspects on time.

Weaknesses

My primary weakness is public speaking as I tend to be become over-conscious and nervous whenever provided with an opportunity to share my views on a platform. This is major weakness which is needs to be addressed very soon so that a better future on academic and professional grounds is to be carried out.
Another weakness is that I tend to be more rigid when it comes to accomplishment of the work. The flexibility will be helpful in accomplishing numerous tasks at the same time. The rigidity have been a major problem as the circumstances in the external environment are changing at a very frequent manner. Being adaptable can be referred to be fundamental strength which will be helpful in surviving in the business world.
I have been not able to deal with problems which are encountered by me in an effective manner. There are numerous problems which are experience during project fulfilment. There is a significant need to develop problem solving skills so that major academic and personal challenges can be fulfilled in the right manner. The complexity of the problems are increasing and needs to be countered effectively to achieve success on academic and personal grounds.

b. SMART Targets

The targets which are set by me are SMART in nature which are defined below:

I want to develop skill of flexibility and adaptability within period of 1 year
I want to develop the skill of public speaking within the period of 6 months
Development of the skill of problem solving within 8 months period
